Tier II Teams

Tier Teams are highly competitive teams with experienced players.  Tryouts are held in the spring for the following Fall/Winter season. The Ogden Jr Mustangs will field Tier II teams in the 14 and under, 16 and under and the 18 and under divisions. Tier II teams play a USA Hockey sanctioned tournament schedule. The Ogden Jr Mustangs Tier II teams travel out of state 1-2 times each month for competition.  The Tier II practice and travel schedule is demanding.  Utah Tier II teams may play against Tier I (AAA) teams only if the certain conditions are met according to the Utah Amateur Hockey Association policies. Tier II teams are nationally bound teams meaning that they will compete for the Tier II state title in their age division with the winner representing Utah in the USA Hockey National Championships tournament, in their age division. Competition is high, the time and financial demand is significant for the Tier II player and family.  Ogden Jr Mustangs Tier teams have participated in the NAPHL, RMHF and the NWAHL.  Billeted players are not allowed on Tier II teams. Players rostered on a Jrs team at anytime during the season may not be eligible for Tier II team rostering. Tier Ii is for Utah residents only.
